Fees:

• No registration fee.
• Lodging will be provided by the sponsor.
• The following meals will be provided at no cost to the participants:

• Tuesday night reception buffet
• Wednesday breakfast, lunch, and dinner
• Thursday breakfast, lunch, and dinner
• Friday breakfast. Lunch will be provided for all scribes, sector leaders, and participants scheduled to work until 3:00 pm

• Parking fees at the Mountainlair Parking Garage will be paid for by the sponsor.
• Participants are responsible for travel costs and any other expenses they may incur.

Travel:

          Participants are responsible for their own travel arrangements and costs.

Access by Car:

Morgantown is conveniently located 75 miles sought of Pittsburgh. It is accessible from Interstate 79 and Interstate 68. The Baltimore/Washington, DC area is less than a four-hour drive on Interstate 70 to Interstate 68.

Directions:

To Stalnaker Hall

Exit Interstate 79 at exit 155 (Star City/Osage/WVU exit). Follow routes U.S. 19-WV 7 East (Monongahela Boulevard) to Patteson Dive (across from the Coliseum). Turn left on Patteson Drive and turn right at the next light onto University Avenue. Follow University Avenue approximately 1.5 miles. At College Avenue (in front of the Mountainlair Student Union), turn left. The first street on the right is Maiden Lane. Turn right onto Maiden Lane. Stalnaker Hall is on your left.

Access by Commercial Air:

Fly directly to Morgantown Municipal Airport (Hart Field) via US Air Express from Washington, DC or Pittsburgh, PA. The airport is within three miles of Stalnaker Hall. The Pittsburgh International Airport is 75 miles north of Morgantown and is served by major carriers. Morgantown Limousine offer transportation service to and from both airports. Charter service is also available at the Morgantown Municipal airport.

Van Service:

        For participants flying into the Morgantown Airport, van service to and from Stalnaker Hall will be provided on the following dates and times.

• Tuesday, May 26, a van with the sign "WVU Climate Forum" will be parked at the Morgantown Airport and will leave the airport on the half hour throughout the day.

• Friday, May 29, a van with the sign "WVU Climate Forum" will be parked at Stalnaker Hall and will leave for the Morgantown Airport on the half hour throughout the day.

• Stalnaker Hall was originally constructed in 1919 on the campus of West Virginia University and is currently on the National Register of Historic Places. The building and dorm have recently undergone a complete renovation while maintaining the historic architecture of its facade. With the completion of this renovation, Stalnaker is a state-of-the-art meeting center with modern suite accommodations for 260 students during the school year. During the summer months the dorm accommodates professionals staying on campus for a variety of workshops, seminars, and meetings.

• Participants to the Climate Variability and Change Workshop will have private rooms at Stalnaker with a bathroom shared with one other person. If you desire to share bathroom accommodations with a particular attendee at the meeting, please give his/her name when making your reservation.

  Suites are completely air-conditioned, have 24-hour front desk service, linen service, telephones in every room with free local service, and laundry facilities. Breakfast on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday will be held in Stalnaker’s dining room. Thursday evening "Strategy Sessions" will also be held at Stalnaker.

  Those wishing to lodge elsewhere may do so at their own expense, although the meeting organizers strongly encourage invited participants to lodge on campus. Morgantown Hotel/ Motel Listings
   

Parking:

• A block of parking spaces has been reserved at the WVU Mountainlair Parking Lot next to Stalnaker Hall. See map for directions.

Dress:

• All Mountainlair daytime meetings—casual dress
• Tuesday "Meet & Greet" Reception/Buffet—casual dress
• Reception at Coopers Rock State Forest (elevation ca. 2,000') and dinner at the Westvaco Natural Resources Center, WVU Forest —dress in comfortable layers and comfortable shoes for walking around on forest paths. The reception at Coopers Rock will be outside under a pavilion. Part of the event at the Natural Resources Center will be outside. Evening temperatures in May at Coopers Rock and the WVU Forest varies between 40 - 60 degrees. Click here for Morgantown weather information.
