Code enforcement to be featured at ‘BAD’ buildings redevelopment conference slated for Nov. 8

The 2018 BAD Buildings Summit on November 8 at the Embassy Suites in Charleston, WV will feature sessions on a range of topics related to dilapidated buildings and blight, including demolition and rehab funding opportunities, code enforcement, and community spotlights. 

Are you interested in learning about the basics of code enforcement? The Building Code is designed to ensure the construction and maintenance of safe buildings. This participatory session will include a quick overview of the different types of ordinances used to regulate unsafe structures, a brief overview of the process and any recent changes to legislation regarding unsafe structure. Then experts will address questions from the audience and facilitate conversation around dilapidated and vacant buildings.
